Two of the city's most at-risk heritage buildings are in line for grants: the council has been offered £261,500 of Government money for the Fleece Hotel, and Gloucester Civic Trust has secured £380,000 to finish restoring the Pin Factory. It is also half term, and the Guildhall, Museum and Cathedral have filled the week with it, from Meet the Hatter on Tuesday to a family rave on Sunday. The rest is below.
The week at a glance
Big Fish Little Fish Halloween Family Rave: Sunday 1 November, 14:00
Meet The Hatter: Tuesday 27 October, 13:00
Pumpkin picking in the Cotswolds: on now, until Saturday 31 October
Half Term Activities: Heritage Crafts of the Cloister: Tuesday 27 and Thursday 29 October, 11:00
In The Dance Presents Beats For Eats: Friday 30 October, 18:00
Weather
A wet start, then a grey, dry week. Monday is the wet one: drizzle and rain all but certain, though mild, 17°C by afternoon, a couple of degrees above a normal late-October day. Tuesday keeps the drizzle, lighter, with a moderate breeze. From Wednesday the rain goes and the cloud stays: overcast through Friday, 14 to 16°C by afternoon and only a slim chance of a shower. Saturday and Sunday are calm, still cloudy and cooler, 8 to 12°C, with little rain in the forecast. The dry run from Wednesday is the pick.
